Lamp Recycling Date Set

Start planning now for the recycling of luorescent lamps, ballasts, batteries and computer components. The 2008 Lamp Recycling event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20. The event is sponsored by the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and will again be held at the Menasha campus of Goodwill Industries at the intersection of highways 441 and 41.

Companies that have 300 or more fluorsecent bulbs to recycle may make arrangements for a pickup at no additional cost, as long as all the bulbs are in a single Fox Cities location. Requests for pick up must be made through the Chamber office at least 1 week prior to the event.

A special state rate has been negotiated by the Chamber for its members. Non-members can also take advantage of these prices, for an additional surcharge of $10. Payment must be made at the time of drop-off. The Chamber can not invoice anyone for this service.

Congratulations to the 2008 Small Business of the Year Award Winners!

The Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce held the annual Small Business of the Year Award Luncheon on Wednesday, June 11. Sponsors of this year's awards included First National Bank – Fox Valley and Schenck Business Solutions in conjunction with The Post-Crescent and WHBY 1150 AM.   

This year's award recipients included:  Performance Welding, Inc. in the Manufacturing Category;
Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in the Service Category; The Learning Shop in the Wholesale/Retail Category.

The Chamber also presented its 2008 Rising Star Award to Coalesce Marketing & Design, Inc.  The Rising Star recipient is a firm in existence for less than five years that shows early success and promise for continued growth.

The Fox Cities Chamber Golf Scramble will take place on Monday, July 21 at the Rigeway Country Club, 2913 County Road II, Neenah. Included in cost is 18 holes of golf, with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., lunch, cart and dinner.
